Fix ISIN | Calculate ISIN Check Digit
An ISIN is a 12-character code that identifies a financial security. If you would like to apply for a ISIN code and need assistance with creating or generating and obtaining a ISIN number please reach out to us for application needs by email: isin@isin.org
An ISIN consists of three parts:
- A two-letter country code
- A nine-character alphanumeric national security identifier
- A single check digit.
For example: US38259P5089 (Alphabet - Google)
On this page, you can either:
- enter an ISIN without the check digit, or:
- enter a full ISIN you would like to fix (i.e. with an incorrect check digit)
In both cases, a correct ISIN will be calculated for you, if possible.
Disclaimers:
- Note that the result can be a non-existing number. Since it is being calculated by an algorithm, even if a number like an ISIN shows up it may not exist – it’s just the algorithm showing what could exists.
- This tool is an algorithm. Just because you enter a code does not mean it is an active number or a created number. Even if a code is generated it does not indicate that the code is active or was created.
